First single of Unity: The Latin Tribute to Michael JacksonFIU School of Music alumnus and Artist-in-Residence Tony Succar ’08, MA ’10 has decided to honor his idol, Michael Jackson, with a wonderful tribute album. He started by recomposing Jackson’s iconic hits and infusing them with Latin rhythms, Jazz, World Music and American Pop. More than 80 musicians were enlisted to bring his music to life, including world-renowned Latin recording artists Tito Nieves, La India, Obie Bermúdez and Jennifer Peña.
The album will have 14 songs with Latin and Tropical rhythms keeping the essence and foundation of the original songs. The first single, “I Want You Back” featuring the vocals of Salsa mega-star Tito Nieves, will be released on August 21, 2012 and the album scheduled for release in the fall.
CD Depot Stores supports this project as it is a magnificent tribute to “The King of Pop”.
